This young blonde woman found her way into fandom before it was fandom in April 1999, at thirteen years old, after an English teacher began to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to her class. To think, she once loathed the book with a passion! But that may be because all she wanted to do was sleep after lunch, and not listen to some random book whose title she could not even remember.
In June 1999, she sat down with the first two books and gobbled them up, finding herself lost in a world of magic and mystery.
July 1999 saw the founding of Harry Potter's Realm of Wizardry and the site, now one of the oldest Potter fan sites in existence, has continued to run for four and a half years accompanied by a forum with 7000+ wonderful members.
Since 1999, this obscure young oldbie of the fandom has written several Potter-based stories, read fanfic over doing homework and preparing for exams, eaten spam, made many friends, giggled obscenely at random kerfluffles and strife, bought Harry Potter books from around the globe to add to her massive collection, and shaken her fist many a time at the computer screen. She writes often and oggles artwork whenever possible. She finds this, overall, quite productive and an incredibly imporant part of her life.
This oldbie speaks a smattering of French, can sometimes translate Spanish, dislikes George W. Bush vehemently, and shares an affinity for Jelly Belly candy (especially very cherry) with former U.S. President Ronald Regan - a fact which she finds odd, if not disturbing. She vicariously supports anything David Beckham does, and adores Switzerland with plans to live, then die, there one day.
She also feels quite ridiculous for typing in the third person, as it is rather annoying, and will stop now.
